The Equipment Rental Specialist will provide operational support and be an instrumental player in facilitating equipment rentals.As an Equipment Rental Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers have a positive rental experience.Work is performed under limited supervision and is occasionally complex; requiring initiative, resilience, attention to detail, sense of urgency, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Complete rental transactions, and pickup / delivery coordination of rental units.
- Collect and accurately enter all required information related to rentals.
- Consult with customers to determine equipment rental rates, develop contracts, and arrange transportation based on customers' needs on a walk-in or call-in basis.
- Recommend products and services to existing and potential customers.
- Prepare and assist with rental quotes.
- Collaborate with other rental coordinators, outside/inside rental sales staff, transportation, credit, Yard Specialists and service to ensure all paperwork and contractual agreements are complete and accurate.
- Create, edit, invoice, and close rental agreements using WCAT rental software.
- Compare computer and physical inventory counts and solve any discrepancies as needed.
- Work to find an "out of the box" solution when necessary.
- Obtain credit PO requirements from our internal credit department as needed on a daily basis.
- Ensure cash (COD) and CAT Commercial accounts are collected and maintained throughout the rental period.
- Transfer and track equipment between stores as needed.
- Follow check-in/check-out procedures of all units entering or exiting the equipment yard.
- Accurately document lost rentals from customer and sales representatives.
- Perform cold calls to potential rental customers.
- Invoice rental fuel, maintenance, damage, and transportation costs as needed.
- Instruct customers on safe and proper use of equipment.
- Maintain a positive approach to customer service and satisfaction.
- Provide prompt response to incoming calls and return of voice messages.
- Ensure company policies, safety policies, and work processes are followed and in compliance.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years' experience in the transportation industry and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, customer service and collaboration skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Basic PC skills required, should have a working knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and web-based computer platforms.
- Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced work environment.
