Job Details

Essential job duties include:

• Prepare tools and materials needed for the day.
• Provide assistance to the Lineman from the ground so that the Lineman does not have to take the time to lower the boom.
• Ensure the safety of the Lineman. Keep a lookout for anything that could impede the safety of yourself and the Lineman.
• Learning what the Lineman job entails. Pay attention to what the Lineman's day to day duties are. Advancement opportunities when qualified.
• Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials such as asphalt.
• Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
• Bucket truck knowledge a plus. In addition job may include using bucket trucks to Lash and De-Lash Existing & New Cable.
• Comply with all health and safety rules.
• Other duties assigned.

Job Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of previous labor experience in a construction environment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Experience in underground/aerial utilities construction preferred.
• Must have a current, valid driver's license and be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance if needed.
• Must have work boots (steel-toed boots preferred but not required).
• Hiring is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, walk, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain in order to access equipment, tools, materials, and jobsite in order to complete work. Must be able to lift 70 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity are necessary.
