Onward Resources is seeking a self-motivated, instrument engineer with knowledge in electrical and controls/automation engineering to lead and/or support assigned projects to ensure the development of effective designs, drawings, and documentation to achieve client/owner requirements as part of a multidisciplinary engineering and project execution team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ability to read and review P&IDs and electrical drawings.
2. Demonstrated work experience in the Upstream/Midstream Oil and Gas Production support.
3. Management of third-party subcontractors/firms.
4. Engage in shop and field testing of switchgear and motor control center equipment.
5. Assist in developing electrical standards and specifications.
6. Apply design knowledge in medium and low-voltage power distribution, grounding, lighting, motor control, VFD, and other miscellaneous equipment specifications.
7. Interact with other engineering disciplines, construction project management, major equipment suppliers, and clients.
8. Review and approve electrical design deliverables to issue for design and construction.
9. Wiring diagrams, one-lines, electrical area classification plans, power cable and control schedules.
10. Knowledge of budgets, proposals, bids, and budgeting concepts.
11. Coordinate details and miscellaneous design details with other disciplines and project management.
12. Apply standard engineering design principles to the extent appropriate.
13. Experience in electrical modeling programs (SKM, ETAP, etc.) for use to conduct power studies, short-circuit calculations, coordination studies, arc flash calculations, and troubleshooting if required.

Qualifications:

1. 5 or more years of applicable experience in the oil and gas industry.
2. Specification of low and medium voltage equipment (switchgears, transformers, VFDs, etc.).
3. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
4. Extensive knowledge of pertinent industry codes is required.
5. Proven success in developing and executing projects, including objectives, scope, schedule, and deliverables.
6. Tenacious, results-oriented approach to work, with high-quality work standards.
7. Impeccable personal and professional ethics.
8. Some travel involved for field testing (FAT).

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to climb up and down ladders, stairs, and platforms at various heights.
2. Ability to push, pull, lift 50 lbs to a minimum of 3-4 feet and maneuver equipment or parts as needed.
