Overview:

William Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, is seeking an Electrical Estimator specializing in medium and high voltage electrical construction projects. Join our dynamic team in estimating costs for electrical construction initiatives and oversee the bid submission process for clients.

This position can be based in our Rockford, IL, Scottsdale, AZ, Indianapolis, IN, Benicia, CA, or McLeansville, NC offices.

Occasional travel (up to 2 times per month) will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned projects:
    • Complete pre-construction surveys and necessary preliminary documents.
    • Perform majority of quantity surveys and pricing estimates.
    • Prepare vendor proposal comparisons and summary sheets.
    • Conduct thorough plan reviews.
    • Obtain applicable wage rates.
    • Coordinate proposal completion with team members.
    • Develop and finalize project schedules.
  • Review contract specifications, documents, and drawings for accurate take-offs.
  • Critically analyze estimates for competitive bidding.
  • Stay updated on industry software and technologies.
  • Communicate with Engineering Consultants and Designers to coordinate digital information for take-offs.
  • Create presentations and submittal materials using basic CAD and drafting.
  • Participate in occasional site visits and pre-bid meetings.
  • Assist with additional estimating duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Prior construction industry experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
