Job Summary:

Oversees the Product Engineering team within Nortek Coils Solutions to meet customer expectations for service and support while working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure that products are built to the highest standards with respect to product design specifications and overall performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively use input from Sales and Business Development teams to create and manage an Innovation funnel and pipeline.
  • Leads design changes to existing products, ensuring compatibility through appropriate validation.
  • New Product Innovation – Support the development of the Nortek Coil Solutions' product roadmap and growth strategy to capitalize on key market through the cross-functional team. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Discovering market pain points by gathering voice of customers through primary and secondary market research, leveraging the information into developing serial innovation solutions and product specifications.
  • Develop and Own the new Coils Test Lab to use for developing next level advancements in coils related innovations
  • Concept Design: Support product development from concepts through various stages of prototyping to final design by applying sound and good engineering principles including product requirements, concept design and selection, prototyping, testing, etc.
  • Creating business cases for new product innovation and serial enhancements, driving above market product differentiation.
  • Developing new product go-to-market strategies including forecasting volumes, designing market tests, planning internal training, and communication plans.
  • Lead the deployment of Innovation projects commercially and operationally.
  • Own the Nortek Coils product selection and pricing tool (NASCOIL) and partner with rep channel and internal resources to continuously improve the effectiveness of the tool.
  • Market Landscape and Competitive Intelligence – Develop a full understanding of the market dynamics including regulatory, customer, competitive, and end-user trends.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) with 10 years' experience in the HVAC industry.
  • MBA or Masters Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) is preferred
  • Excellent communication, written/verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • International experience and ability to work in a diverse and multicultural environment
  • Demonstrated success in talent development - acquisition and development.
  • Able to lead people and get results through others.
  • Customer centric, always bringing forth the Customer's perspective.
  • Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to partner with leadership and influence strategic initiatives.
  • Travel Requirement – international travel <10%
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • INFOR Syteline or similar MRP/ERP system
  • AutoCAD / 3D Application
