Job Description

Mach is seeking a Production Engineer with strong experience managing CO₂ and waterflood projects. This is a hybrid role that will require ownership of both production operations and reservoir management for EOR assets.
You will lead day-to-day operations and optimization efforts while also handling surveillance, pattern performance, and long-term development strategy - effectively functioning as both the production and reservoir engineer for these assets. This is a high-impact role suited for a technically capable, self-directed engineer who can operate cross-functionally and independently.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage daily production and injection operations across CO₂ and waterflood assets
• Optimize artificial lift systems and injection strategies to enhance performance and recovery
• Monitor, analyze, and forecast reservoir performance; manage sweep efficiency, breakthrough control, and pattern health
• Perform production surveillance, nodal analysis, and injection diagnostics to identify optimization opportunities
• Collaborate with field staff and leadership to execute workovers, interventions, and development plans
• Develop and maintain integrated production-reservoir models to support data-driven decision-making
• Lead planning for CO₂ and waterflood expansions, pattern realignments, and economic evaluations
• Ensure operational compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Evaluate the economic impact of engineering solutions and recommend cost-effective methods to improve production.

Experience & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in production engineering, with strong exposure to CO₂ and waterflood operations
• Ability to independently manage both the operational and reservoir aspects of EOR projects
• Proficiency in production modeling tools and reservoir surveillance software
• Strong understanding of mature reservoir systems, multiphase flow, and CO₂ handling logistics in enhanced recovery settings
• Strong communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of technical projects without heavy oversight
