Position Overview:

The Vice President of Project Management Office (PMO) will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the strategy for Accrue Payroll's project management office. This position will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of key strategic initiatives, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The VP of PMO will work closely with senior leadership to establish project governance frameworks, improve processes, and ensure the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional projects across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Lead the PMO function to ensure alignment with Accrue Payroll's overall business goals and strategic objectives.
• Project Portfolio Management: Oversee the project portfolio, ensuring that projects are aligned with the company's priorities and are executed efficiently. Provide high-level reporting to the executive team on project status, performance, and risks.
• Process Improvement: Establish and continuously improve project management processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure standardization of project execution across the company.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration between departments such as IT, HR, finance, sales, and customer success, ensuring smooth execution of projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Resource Management: Work closely with department heads to ensure the right resources are allocated to projects and that project teams are effectively managed.
• Risk Management: Identify project risks, issues, and obstacles, and proactively implement solutions to address them. Develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks to project timelines and deliverables.
• Budget and Timeline Oversight: Manage the financial and resource aspects of each project, ensuring projects are completed within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing PMO team. Provide coaching and guidance to project managers to ensure professional growth and high-quality execution.
• Change Management: Drive the change management process for major projects, ensuring smooth transitions and effective communication across the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or related field; PMP or similar project management certification preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing complex project portfolios.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large, cross-functional projects, preferably within the payroll, HR tech, or fintech industries.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and experience implementing them across an organization.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks.
