POSITION OVERVIEW
The Community Connector is responsible for the development and implementation of Maternal, Infant, Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) network support, partnership, and collaboration opportunities throughout Oklahoma County. This position supports the continued development of best practices related to early childhood, Strengthening Families Protective Factors, and home visitation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Promote and contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures, beliefs, abilities, and experiences.
- Demonstrate capacity for providing developmentally sensitive, hope centered, trauma informed relationship-focused evidence-based/informed services, training, and supports.
- Establish and maintain effective community relationships and partnerships, including community engagement event coordination to build programs and service capacity for MIECHV home visiting programs in the communities served.
- Organize, plan, and facilitate collaboration and learning opportunities for home visitation programs and partners by connecting partners, resources, and referrals.
- Establish and maintain regular communication with community partners, contracts, and clients as a support and resource.
- Attend and participate in meetings, coalitions, and advisory councils relating to early childhood and MIECHV programs.
- Support the promotion and marketing of MIECHV home visitation programs throughout the community.
- Serve as a MIECHV program liaison to a variety of groups, coalitions, community, and state agencies and networks.
- Maintain continued knowledge and support of early childhood policy and advocacy needs of our community and state to best support children and families.
- Provide support and coordination for programs and services relating to early childhood and MIECHV initiatives.
- Develop a centralized referral system for home visitation programs, including data collection and tracking of dissemination of referrals to appropriate programs.
- Provide support and assist with the evaluation processes and procedures for home visitation and MIECHV Programs.
- Promote and implement the use of the five Protective Factors that are the foundation of the Strengthening Families approach.
- Collect, analyze, and submit ongoing data needs to maintain compliance and identify areas of improvement.
- Prepare grant reports and assist with grant applications and new initiatives.
- Travel locally as required in the performance of responsibilities.
- Perform other appropriate and related responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or Executive Team member.
QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS Minimally Required
Preferred
Education
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in public health, social work, child development, community development, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
Master's degree with an emphasis in public health, social work, child development, community development, or a related field
Experience
Experience with home visiting programs and/or early childhood services
Experience in a management or leadership position
Experience working with a team or group in establishing a goal
At least five (5) years of experience in related field

Knowledge and understanding of community/county resources
Knowledge and understanding of best practices related to early childhood, Strengthening Families Protective Factors and home visitation
Intermediate knowledge of computer operations and applications, including Microsoft, and the ability to master other computer technology / software programs
Able to successfully manage and appropriately prioritize multiple tasks
Must be able to travel and work some evenings and weekends as required by the job.
Valid Oklahoma driver's license and state required vehicle insurance for any vehicle used in performance of job duties.
Other: Dependable transportation for travel required in performance of job duties.
Bilingual Spanish/English speaking ability to interact with children and families from multilingual homes.
WORKING CONDITIONS Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently communicate with staff and others, and must be able to exchange accurate information when doing so. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, attend meetings, etc. Must be able to detect, discern, distinguish, observe, inspect and compare. Occasionally must be able to move needed materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment
The employee will work in an office environment, may work in close quarters with other staff. Performance of duties in a remote work environment may be approved by the Chief Executive Officer All remote work is subject to Sunbeam policies and procedures including but not limited to remote work policies and expectations.
