Academic Life Coaches work with students who have been identified as academically vulnerable and who have been admitted to the University of Oklahoma. Serving as proactive mentors, coaches provide specialized support and guidance to a group of assigned students. In a focused, individualized manner, these students are empowered to manage all aspects of college life with strategies that enable them to successfully progress toward graduation. Responsibilities of the position include active outreach to assigned students, regularly scheduled coaching sessions and followup communication, effective referrals to campus resources, New Sooner Orientation advising duties, and participation in team meetings/trainings. Ideal candidates have a passion for student success and a strong interest in utilizing life coaching skills to empower students.
