Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Employees must possess the basic communication skills to exchange information, give and receive simple instructions and respond to inquiries. Employees in his position may be required to perform routine computations requiring a knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, fractions, decimals and/or percentages. Employee must use tools or equipment in a manner requiring competence and must meet certain performance standards which normally would be gained by on the job exposure or training. In a workday, the employee must stand/walk approximately 5 hours per day. Employee's job requires occasional to frequent bending/stooping; squatting/crouching; crawling/kneeling; climbing; reaching above shoulder; and pushing/pulling. Employee's job requires occasional to frequent, depending on the assignment, carrying/lifting of up to 90 pounds. Such lifting is for concrete/cement; loading and unloading lugs of tar to feed hot kettle; carrying felt and shingles on roof and moving equipment and supplies. Job requires employee to use both feet for repetitive movements; to use both hands for such repetitive actions requiring simple/firm grasping and/or fine manipulation. Employee must possess manual dexterity/visual ability to operate vehicles and equipment, to see area to be cleaned, repaired, etc. Employee must possess hearing/speaking ability to communicate with fellow workers and the public. Employee must have mental requirement to understand and follow instructions and avoid safety problems. Employee's job requires working for long periods with physically demanding work. Requires much exertion. Employee's job may require working on roofs, ladders, scaffolding; Use of/close to dangerous equipment; working in the outdoors with temperature changes; operating motorized equipment and exposure to toxic chemicals, dust, fumes, extreme heat and hot tar, etc.

Job Title: Utility Person
Credentials: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Education: High school diploma or GED
Training or experience required: 6-12 months of related work experience in various trades. Must perform work at a semi-skilled level
Site: Central Services Center
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Contract: 260 days
Salary Schedule: Maintenance 3
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate light to heavy vehicles and equipment.
- Assist as a helper to the various trades as required including roofing, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, ground maintenance, etc.
- Maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Perform general maintenance work at a sub journey level in repair of buildings, grounds, maintenance, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
