Warehouse Sanitation

Sysco Oklahoma, a leading foodservice distribution company, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Sanitation Associate to join our team in Norman, Oklahoma. Key Responsibilities:

• Wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using dishwashers or by hand to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, counters, work surfaces, and storage areas, including proper waste disposal and recycling.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as portioning ingredients, chopping vegetables, or organizing supplies as directed by culinary staff.
• Support test kitchen operations by rotating products, restocking supplies, and monitoring inventory levels to prevent shortages.
• Maintain the overall organization and appearance of the culinary facility, including laundry services for linens and towels.
• Follow Sysco's food safety protocols, including proper handling of perishable items and adherence to HACCP guidelines.
• Occasionally assist with setup and cleanup for internal/external culinary events or demonstrations.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided. Previous experience in a kitchen, warehouse, or foodservice environment is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive tasks in a humid, fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; willingness to obtain ServSafe certification if needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass a background check.

Requirements:

• The sanitation associate keeps the work site clean and free of debris.
• You will learn both sanitation and pallet sorting best practices within a warehouse facility, working alone or in teams with minimal supervision.
• Work with a high level of direct contact with customer's staff and outside delivery personnel; emphasis is placed on the ability to relate in a positive, friendly manner.
• Assigned to specified areas within work environment to maintain consistent workflow and meet customer expectations.

• Keeps Site Supervisor and Manager informed regarding conditions on the dock, accomplishments and concerns; contributes suggestions for improvements
• Flexible work schedule due to changing operational needs
• Sit or stand for periods in office as well as warehouse environment (concrete flooring and changing temperatures)
