Support Services Clerk

The Support Services Clerk applies comprehensive technical knowledge to provide logistics management services for the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL). Responsibilities include completing the Material Control, Scheduling, Shipping, and Supply functions within the PMEL. The position also involves managing the shipment of TMDE to and from off-base customers, creating and maintaining computer generated or manual forms and control logs for parts and equipment requests related to PMEL, monitoring TMDE in delayed/deferred statuses daily, advising the PMEL Manager of significant increases or deviations from monthly schedule, taking necessary actions to minimize overdue TMDE, performing the TMDE Coordinator training program, providing pick-up & delivery service on base as required by the PWS, responsible for ordering and tracking parts required to repair TMDE, operating and using PMEL Automated Management System (PAMS) to record parts requests and update the status of TMDE, monitoring and controlling the PMEL bench stock, organizing and controlling the work center shop stock, processing proper paperwork to ensure issuance of kits for the performance of Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO), controlling the PMEL Hazardous Waste Management program, monitoring and controlling the PMEL Satellite Accumulation Points, monitoring and controlling the PMEL Precious Metals Program, preparing monthly and TMDE calibration schedules, inspecting, performing user maintenance, and driving Company owned vehicle, visually inspecting TMDE at OWC, communicating with various depots and PMELs to plan, schedule and coordinate the outside repair/calibration support of TMDE, reviewing manpower, equipment, and parts/material availability and communicating with PMEL Manager to advise and recommend adjustment to PMEL repair/calibration schedules and priorities, using PAMS and proper code format to input a variety of timely and accurate data to maintain status of the TMDE Master ID file, instructing TMDE Monitors in TMDE repair/calibration procedures, maintaining TMDE storage area, and processing equipment received from off-base calibration and maintenance.

The Support Services Clerk may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

The position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks. No supervisory responsibilities assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities include familiarity with all facets of the US Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program with respect to local operations, beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite, ability to use the PMEL Automated Management System to ensure accurate data entry, ability to understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, ability to generate routine reports and correspondence, excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional ability to use general office equipment, ability to follow all applicable process, exceptional professional customer service skills, sufficient decision analysis and problem-solving skills, ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals, high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently, excellent ability to multi-task, high school diploma or equivalent required, minimum of four (4) years of verifiable positive PMEL or calibration technical experience required, must satisfy background check criteria and be able to obtain a security clearance, must be able to provide documentation of equipment and area discipline qualifications, must be able to provide documentation of a proven excellent quality record as a calibration technician, experience to include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE, and metrology laboratory working standards required.
