Position Overview

As a Water Mitigation Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients during water damage recovery efforts. This hands-on position requires individuals capable of efficiently performing tasks such as water pumping and extraction, mold remediation, and utilizing specialized equipment under supervision. This role serves as a level 2 opportunity within our Water Damage team.

Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions from the team leader to ensure effective task completion.
  • Familiarize yourself with MSDS protocols for chemical products used in mitigation processes.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of the vehicle and maintain it in excellent working condition.
  • Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Master the Book of Damage Caused by Water as part of training.
  • Demonstrate proper use of essential tools and equipment safely under supervision.
  • Build effective containment systems while using appropriate equipment.
  • Safely handle cleaning and disinfecting solutions and debris removal techniques.
  • Utilize safe lifting techniques and care for clients' personal belongings.
  • Assure compliance with BELFOR standards to protect client properties.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Work diligently under time constraints to meet project deadlines.
  • Be receptive to work assignments during nights and weekends as needed.
  • Accurately report work hours and equipment usage.
  • Participate in required safety training and operations provided by BELFOR.

Requirements

  • Experience in water pumping and extraction techniques.
  • Knowledge in mold remediation practices.
  • Capable of moving and resetting contents efficiently.
  • Understanding of drying equipment setup.
  • Experience with antimicrobial applications as needed.
  • Conduct vehicle safety and maintenance inspections.
  • Keep vehicles clean and serviceable.
  • Construct polyethylene enclosures for containment.
  • Efficiently remove and dispose of debris.
  • Maintain equipment used on a daily basis.
  • Willingness to take on other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to identify product usage and disposal requirements with training.
  • Familiarity with various pump systems.
  • Eligible to operate a motor vehicle according to BELFOR's policy.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency, professionalism, and a positive work ethic.
  • Fluency in the English language.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent lifting of items exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting (41 lbs+) with assistance (up to 50% of the time).
  • Ability to access tight spaces for work.
  • Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling.
  • Comfortable using mobile devices for data collection and time tracking.
