EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS FOR PAINTER I: Ability to lift heavy equipment of 25 lbs; ability to communicate effectively with team members; minimum 2 years painting experience preferred; Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Driver's license with no more than 2 traffic violations or 1 chargeable accident within the past three years; knowledge of employment, equipment, and safety procedures.
PHYSICAL AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; follow oral and written instructions; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments. To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
Heavy Work: Lifting up to 25 lbs occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects.
Work Environment: Occasionally works in hot and/or cold temperatures and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; working at heights.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs skilled work in preparing surfaces and in painting and finishing varied surfaces, including buildings and other structures while abiding by all safety guidelines. This includes repairing holes, washing walls, removing old pants, taping, etc. Perform other duties assigned by management.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED FOR PAINTER I:
- Paints, stains, and varnishes using brushes and rollers.
- Cleans, sands, and scrapes surfaces in preparation for painting.
- Repairs surfaces to be painted including plastering and sheetrock finishing.
- Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
- Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
- Move furniture and equipment as necessary.
- May mix and match paint.
- Travel to numerous job sites to perform tasks, sometimes multiple in one day.
- Any other duties as directed by management.
