Weekend Activity Assistant - Jasmine Estates Memory Care

Schedule: Part-Time | Weekends

Position Summary:
Jasmine Estates Memory Care is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and compassionate Weekend Activity Assistant who has a passion for working with seniors-especially those living with dementia. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, patient, and enjoys making meaningful connections while helping residents experience joy, engagement, and purpose each day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and facilitating engaging, dementia-appropriate activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being.
• Lead group and one-on-one activities such as music, crafts, games, light exercise, and sensory experiences.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting individual abilities and preferences.
• Help create a positive, fun, and welcoming environment for residents and their families.
• Support special events, holiday celebrations, and themed weekends.
• Collaborate with the Life Enrichment team to ensure activities meet residents' therapeutic needs.
• Observe and report any changes in resident mood or behavior to the appropriate staff.
• Assist with activity setup, cleanup, and maintaining organized supplies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with seniors or individuals with dementia strongly preferred.
• Positive attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, dependable, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism.
