Creative Director - Women's Retail

Description:

A confidential, fashion-forward lifestyle brand is seeking an accomplished Creative Director to lead culturally relevant, Gen Z-forward seasonal creative from ideation through go-to-market execution. This role owns the creative vision across concept development, photoshoots, graphic assets, and executive-level presentations, ensuring work is modern, aspirational, and deeply connected to how the Gen Z customer lives, expresses herself, and engages with culture.

The Creative Director will partner closely with Marketing, Merchandising, Social, Design, Copy, and Production to deliver product-led, culture-driven storytelling that is cohesive across all consumer touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

Seasonal Concept Development

  • Lead seasonal creative concepts from initial ideation through final execution.
  • Develop compelling creative decks for internal alignment and go-to-market presentations.
  • Align creative storytelling with brand strategy, product priorities, and business objectives.
  • Present creative vision and cultural insights to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
Photoshoot Planning & Execution
  • Own end-to-end photoshoot planning, including casting, locations, styling, photographers, props, and shot lists.
  • Provide on-set art direction to ensure visuals are aspirational, culturally relevant, and Gen Z-authentic.
  • Partner cross-functionally to manage timelines, troubleshoot creative challenges, and ensure seamless execution.
  • Review selects on set and lead post-shoot evaluations.
Post-Production & Asset Management
  • Oversee asset organization, selects, and workflows using Frame.io or similar platforms.
  • Lead retouching direction, approvals, and print proof reviews.
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery across channels.
Go-To-Market Execution
  • Lead creative execution for launches and seasonal presentations.
  • Partner with Marketing, Merchandising, and Creative teams to deliver launch-ready assets across print, digital, and social.
  • Incorporate cross-functional and leadership feedback while maintaining creative integrity.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Mentor and develop creative team members, fostering high standards of taste, collaboration, and cultural fluency.
  • Lead creative reviews and manage workflows across multiple initiatives.
  • Balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
Qualifications
  • Senior-level experience leading creative vision for seasonal campaigns within fashion, retail, lifestyle, or agency environments.
  • Proven ability to translate Gen Z cultural insights into commercially impactful creative strategies.
  • Exceptional creative judgment across photography, design, copy, social, and storytelling.
  • Strong executive presence with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Highly collaborative leadership style with cross-functional experience.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; ability to create presentation-ready decks.
  • Retail, fashion, or agency experience strongly preferred.
  • Motion or video experience a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for photoshoots and key creative moments.
