Customer Service Associate

Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE: The Customer Service Associate is dedicated to providing an outstanding shopping experience for our Customers. By making eye contact, smiling, and greeting every Customer with warmth, the Associate fosters a friendly atmosphere while working cohesively with fellow Associates. This role requires adherence to company best practices, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring merchandise is well presented. The Associate will engage in various tasks throughout the Store as business needs arise and may be asked to take on additional responsibilities to meet Customer service and operational objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prioritizes safety in all actions and promotes safe behaviors.
  • Maintains a vigilant presence on the sales floor to ensure a safe and welcoming shopping environment, promptly addressing any hazards.
  • Treats all Customers and Team Members with courtesy and respect, demonstrating professionalism during all interactions.
  • Assists Customers by being knowledgeable about merchandise and providing friendly, prompt service, including greeting customers and expressing gratitude during transactions.
  • Responds immediately to Customer inquiries and resolves concerns while ensuring excellent service.
  • Embodies and promotes the Company's brand image at all times.
  • Performs cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep customer and Team areas tidy, including disinfecting high-touch areas.
  • Adheres to the company's dress code and maintains a professional appearance.
  • Executes daily assigned tasks efficiently to uphold store organization and merchandising standards.
  • Expedites new merchandise to the sales floor, following presentation guidelines and ensuring familiarity with products to assist Customers effectively.
  • Understands Loss Prevention policies and follows standards to protect merchandise.
  • Handles financial transactions accurately and ensures compliance with cash handling procedures.
  • Demonstrates efficiency in task execution to maximize productivity in the Store.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor when interacting with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership.
  • Basic math skills relevant to retail transactions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

  • Ability to utilize Store equipment and perform various tasks requiring physical presence, including standing, walking, and moving around the Store for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop, occasionally lifting more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial tools and equipment as assigned.
  • Other qualifications may be necessary based on specific assignments.
