Description:

Basic Purpose

Join our team as a Residential Painter! You will play a key role in preparing apartments for new residents by painting, caulking, grouting, and performing light maintenance tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating with the Property Manager about necessary supplies for painting vacant apartment units.
  • Painting walls, trim, doors, window frames, ceilings, vents, closets, shelving, and cabinets in vacant units between tenants.
  • Caulking around sinks, bathtubs, and cabinets in both vacant and occupied units as needed.
  • Repairing or replacing floor tiles as necessary.
  • Completing work orders in occupied apartments related to painting, caulking, or grouting.
  • Painting the interior of the clubhouse, offices, models, laundry rooms, and the exterior of the property as needed.
  • Touching up paint in occupied or common areas as directed by the Property Manager.
  • Hanging sheetrock and patching or repairing holes in walls or ceilings.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Technician and Porter with various tasks as needed.
  • Shoveling snow and applying ice-melt during inclement weather.
  • Completing all job-related tasks as assigned by the Property Manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of six months of experience in apartments or residential painting.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English for business communication.
  • Proficient in reading and writing instructions, correspondence, memos, and service requests; able to engage professionally with residents, co-workers, and vendors.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background investigation including criminal record search, employment verification, and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, use hands for handling and grasping objects, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must be capable of lifting heavy objects up to 75 pounds with assistance from a dolly and another employee.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
