Superintendent Position
Southwind Construction, a subsidiary of Quivera Enterprises, LLC, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project close-out.
The Superintendent is responsible for coordinating field operations, including labor, equipment, subcontractors, and site logistics, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Anticipated hire timeframe: Mid-May to June 2026
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Execution
- Lead and manage daily field operations, ensuring efficient coordination of labor, equipment, and subcontractors
- Plan and execute project mobilization, including site layout and temporary facilities
- Oversee all construction activities to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and schedules
- Communicate project plans, sequencing, and expectations to subcontractors and suppliers
Scheduling & Planning
- Develop and maintain short-term schedules (e.g., 30-day look-ahead schedules)
- Support overall project schedule in coordination with Project Manager
- Monitor progress and adjust activities to maintain schedule commitments
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety standards in accordance with OSHA and EM385-1-1 requirements
- Conduct toolbox talks and lead site safety meetings
- Ensure proper site security and adherence to safety protocols
- Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements
Quality Control
- Ensure all work meets contract requirements, specifications, and quality standards
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and acceptance processes
- Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions
Project Controls & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, including:
- Daily reports
- Safety logs
- Inspection records
- As-built drawings
- Track field productivity and support reporting requirements
Cost & Resource Management
- Support cost control efforts through efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment
- Monitor resource utilization and identify opportunities for efficiency
Close-Out
- Coordinate project close-out activities, including:
- Punch list completion
- Final inspections
- Turnover documentation
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain required federal suitability or background clearance
- Proven experience managing construction projects from mobilization through close-out
- Strong ability to communicate project plans and sequencing to subcontractors and suppliers
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in dynamic construction environments and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal construction projects (e.g., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, DOE, DoD)
- Experience with job site layout and surveying, including use of survey instruments
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field coordination
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering, or related field OR
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in lieu of degree

- Bloodborne Pathogen Training
- First Aid / CPR Certification
- Scaffolding Safety Training (Competent Person)
- Aerial Work Platform Safety Training (Competent Person)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health
- OSHA 8-Hour HAZWOPER
- ANSI/ASSE Z359 Fall Protection (Competent Person)
- OSHA Confined Space Entry Training (Construction)
- 40-Hour EM 385-1-1 Hazard Recognition Course
- Hazard Communication Training
- Level 1 Anti-Terrorism Training
Physical Demands Construction / Field Role
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee, with or without reasonable accommodation.
This position is primarily performed in active construction environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions. The employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and work on uneven terrain are required, including use of ladders and scaffolding. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
The role requires effective communication in active job site environments and sufficient visual acuity (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception). Travel and extended or irregular hours may be required to meet project demands.
