Maintenance Technician
The primary purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on all Golf Course equipment. The tasks will be both scheduled and emergency in nature and range from simple to complex. Replaces and adjusts tension on springs, cutters, tines, blades, reels, knives, brushes, fans and belts which drive, control or perform the intended function of the machine. Sets up and operates bed knife and reel grinders, arbor press, drill press and automatic mower sharpener machines. Makes careful adjustments to obtain correct level and sharpness. Adjusts control linkages, drive clutches and bearings on self-propelled mowers and other equipment. Wires electrical systems with replacement harness. Repairs and changes tires. Operates acetylene welder to heat and straighten bent rods, bars or other parts. Operates electric welder to spot weld, solidify and to modify equipment as needed using different metal types. Maintains stock replacement parts, anticipates future part needs and updates inventory listings. Uses tools and equipment such as wrenches, pliers, brake tools, grinding equipment, feeler gauges, voltmeters, circuit tests, timing lights, compression gauges and dwell meters. Maintains a scheduled maintenance program for all mechanical equipment which includes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual performance inspections. Maintains repair tools and equipment in serviceable condition. Required to maintain workspaces in a clean and orderly condition, abiding by OSHA, Safety, Fire and good housekeeping rules and regulations. Ensures that all maintenance personnel are properly trained in the operations of the Golf Course machinery. Performs other related duties as assigned.
