As a Trial Attorney, you'll handle PIP/No Fault Arbitration Hearings, bodily injury, property damage lawsuits, and more, with opportunities to engage in thrilling trials and mediations. Beyond the courtroom, you'll provide vital counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams while staying abreast of new laws and regulations to keep our strategies sharp.Key Responsibilities Represent insured individuals and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation litigation, and uninsured/underinsured motorist cases.Review new file assignments, all documentary evidence, and approve initial pleadings, propounds discovery, and develop strategy.Manage all aspects of PIP/no-fault litigation from case inception through resolution including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations.Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation, as appropriate.Conduct settlements/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.).Prepare and conduct court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.).Conduct depositions and examinations under oath and prepare summary documents.Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses.Try and/or arbitrate cases and prepare motions and summary documents in limine.Keep claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, and pre-trial, etc.).Travel to court as needed throughout the Metro Boston area, Worcester, the South Shore, Greater Boston, and other Massachusetts locations in support of litigation responsibilities.Education Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts state bar.Experience 1+ years of litigation experience within Subrogation, Insurance Defense, or related fields.Completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to conduct thorough research and draft clear, well-structured legal documents.Strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process.Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.Well-versed in legal ethics and professional conduct standards.Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.Supervisory Responsibilities This job does not have supervisory duties.Benefits Exceptional Work‑Life Balance and flexibility.Holistic understanding of Allstate's business operations and objectives.Direct collaboration with internal stakeholders and business units.Strategic influence and impact on risk management initiatives.Diverse legal challenges beyond traditional litigation, including regulatory compliance and dispute resolution.Professional growth opportunities and potential for advancement.Skills Client Documentation, Client Relationship Management, Collaboration, Evidence Gathering, Insurance Defense, Insurance Litigation, Legal Document Preparation, Legal Research, Litigation, Time Management, Torts.Compensation Compensation offered for this role is $70,100.00 - $121,475.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.EEO Statements Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment‑based visas for this position.Effective July1,2014, under Indiana House Enrolled Act (HEA)1242, it is against public policy of the State of Indiana and a discriminatory practice for an employer to discriminate against a prospective employee on the basis of status as a veteran by refusing to employ an applicant on the basis that they are a veteran of the armed forces of the United States, a member of the Indiana National Guard or a member of a reserve component.It is the Company's policy to employ the best qualified individuals available for all jobs.
