The Health Professions Aide Student is primarily responsible for assisting HP Program Directors, HPC Simulation/Lab Director, HPC Lab Assistant, and HP Division Staff in a variety of tasks. When scheduling allows, the student will assist faculty members with appropriate tasks. Student may NOT be enrolled in a Health Professions program and serve in this position. This position is open to students outside of Health Professions to adhere with the Privacy Act.

Minimum Education/Experience - Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester OR enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester OR Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - For HPC Office student workers: Good telephone and customer service skills Reliable and dependable work ethic Ability to file student records accurately Assist with setting up and breaking down labs Knowledge of Word, Excel and spreadsheets. Prior experience in office setting Demonstrated ability to attend to details For HPC Lab student workers: Cleaning of mannequins and equipment Sorting and Packing of supplies and materials Maintenance of stock Assist with laundry Assist with lab and simulation setup and breakdown Assist in care and maintenance of lab equipment and skills trainers Frequent kneeling, stooping, crouching, bending, and lifting will be required Some computer skills recommended: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Physical Demands/Working Conditions - 1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. 2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations. This position requires the person to frequently move about the Health Professions Division and the OCCC campus to perform the essential functions of the position. This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer and other office equipment to perform the essential functions of the position. This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists. This position requires the person to occasionally position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level. This position requires the person to use upper and lower body to exert force up to 50 pounds to push, pull, grasp, and/or lift materials or equipment. This position requires the person to frequently position self to work with materials/equipment and assist students/faculty/staff. 3. VISUAL ACUITY: This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations. 4. WORKING CONDITIONS This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.
