About The RoleWe're looking for a Sr. Substation Project Engineer for a 1‑year contract assignment (W‑2) on behalf of our client. The Engineering & Construction Team seeks an experienced engineer to manage renewable generation substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning.The contractor will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists, provide project direction, and report to the onsite manager. Travel between worksites and other locations is essential, and a valid driver's license is required. The position is remote with some travel.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.Secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes.Conduct project meetings and perform project tracking and analysis.Identify challenges, develop measures, validate results, and implement solutions.Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.Competitively source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services; support the E&C Cost Estimating Team with scope assumptions.QualificationsCertified Professional Engineer (PE)Six Sigma Black Belt CertifiedSix Sigma Green Belt CertifiedSix Sigma Yellow Belt CertifiedBachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural engineering6+ years' experience in substation design and engineering of high‑voltage substation projectsProject engineering or project management experiencePMP or P.E. in a related discipline is helpfulSome travel required within North AmericaSafety PledgeWe are committed to the safety of our people.
