Aircraft Avionics Tech I

The Avionics (R&E) Technician I is responsible for effectively performing R&E routine work associated with heavy aircraft A, B, C and D checks. Essential duties and responsibilities include detailed knowledge of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Understand engineering methodology for systems installations. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications to perform this job successfully include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, a minimum of 5+ years previous aviation/aircraft experience, and airframe and powerplant (A&P) certificates, FCC license and/or repairman certificate.

Physical demands and work environment include constantly lifting 10 lbs., standing, walking, wrist flexion and extension, environmental weather conditions. Frequently lifting ?40 lbs., push/pull <20 lbs., climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling for extended periods, working in confined spaces. Working above chest-level, overhead, and away from body for extended periods. Bending, twisting of torso, twisting and/or pressure with wrist/hands, fine finger usage, moderate vibrations up to 2 hrs. to high vibrations up to 30 mins. Vision with/without correction; near <20", far >20', and basic depth perception (shapes). Working at elevated heights ?4', working on ladders, scaffolding, uneven surfaces, and energized parts. Occasionally lifting and/or carry ?50 lbs., sitting, basic color vision, operation of motorized or electrical equipment, push/pull <50 lbs., work in wet conditions.
